Guest Editors:

The Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization (JEBO) will publish a special issue on 50 years of the Economics of Crime. This issue is a tribute to Gary S. Becker seminal contribution in this field “Crime and Punishment: An Economic Approach” (Journal of Political Economy, 1968, vol. 76). The issue seeks papers that advance the theory and empirical evidence on the economics of crime. Special interest lies in papers that consider crime in the context of general equilibrium, dynamic models of crime, and models that seek to integrate behavioral aspects of crime to the standard rational choice models of the economics of crime. We are also interested in new empirically sound evidence on areas where knowledge is limited.
Submissions will be accepted until December 31, 2016. When submitting, please select “50 Years Crime Economics” as the article type. Submission fees are waived for this special issue.
